Jobs In Sales

When you move to Chula Vista, California, you're going to need a new job to pay your rent. But what are you supposed to do if there's no compression lugs factory where you can use your experience? There's one industry that always has positions no matter where you decide to live: sales. Stores are the backbone of America. Every town, no matter how small, has at least one, and most California cities, Chula Vista included, has its own mall. Here are some sales jobs you might find in Chula Vista.

Retail Sales Clerk

This is the type of job you'll find if you go canvassing at the Chula Vista Center Mall with your resume. Depending on the store you work at, you might be called upon to sell interlocking lead bricks or ladies shoes, so make sure you choose a store where you have some familiarity with the products. Your responsibilities as a sales clerk would include helping customers, operating a cash register, stocking shelves, and giving advice on products, and you'd likely be working for minimum wage.

Vendor

Companies that make larger industrial or professional products such as strapping machines sell directly to companies who need their products instead of putting them in stores. Sales positions at companies are salaried positions that would net you much more than shift work at a store, but you also have to have more knowledge and experience to secure such a job. Vendors have to find potential customers, develop and give sales pitches, and negotiate contracts. They are often paid at least partially in commissions on the sales they secure.

Product Demonstrator

As a product demonstrator, you might be called upon to work from a booth at the mall, on a paid program developed for television, or at fairs and other special events. The product demonstrator's job is to interest onlookers in the product by showing it in action. You might be selling an as-seen-on-TV product like a juicer or a larger item like an on demand hot water heater, but you are almost always working from a script. Pay is often a few dollars above minimum wage.

Telemarketer

Depending on how desperate the call center is for staff, you might be working for minimum wage or you might be several dollars above it. As a telemarketer, your job would be to cold call potential customers and give them the sales pitch for DVD Replication Toronto or whoever the client is. These jobs can be demoralizing but if you're a natural talker or salesperson you can do quite well.
